According to the official Twitter page of BBC journalist Lizo Mzimba, the first trailer for Planet of the Dead will be shown tomorrow night on BBC One just before The Apprentice begins transmission at 9pm. If you don't want to miss the trailer tomorrow, then it's probably best that you turn on BBC One about five minutes early and keep on the look out for it but don't worry if you do miss it as it will also hopefully be posted here on this site later in the week. Michelle Ryan, who will play Lady Christina de Souza in the episode, will also be making an appearance on next Wednesday's edition of Blue Peter and that will broadcast at 4:35pm on BBC One. What do you think of this news?

According to various sources, the final of this year's Doctor Who specials will see The Doctor once again come face to face with The Master. The reports then go on to say that The Doctor will be re-united with his companions; Rose, Martha and Donna for the episodes and they also claim that The Master will again be portrayed by John Simm. An insider who apparently works at the BBC is quoted as saying;
“This will be the most exciting episode Doctor Who have ever done. We really wanted to get all the companions back on board as a fitting send-off to David and of all the enemies for him to face in his final episode it makes sense for The Master to be the main one. Getting Billie Piper to agree is a real coup, but fortunately she loved working on the show so much that it didn’t take much convincing.”
It should be noted however that there has been no official confirmation stating that this is true so at the moment these are only rumours. They may turn out to be true or may turn out to be false so at the moment it's best that they are taken with a pinch of salt. You can view The Sun's article about these rumours here and more information will be posted here on this site if and when it becomes available. What do you think about these latest rumours?

Euros Lyn, the director of many Doctor Who episodes and upcoming Torchwood episodes, has recently took part in an interview with Wired and the interview has now been published on their official website. In the interview, Euros discusses many things including; the third series of Torchwood which he has directed. An extract from the interview about the last two of this year's Doctor Who specials can be viewed below;
"I've seen the scripts and they're amazing. I'm being being very careful not to give anything away but I think fans will be thrilled with David's farewell and how we set up the 11th Doctor. I have to approach the project as I would any other, from the script's perspective. The significance of the episode isn't relevant. You have to start with the script from day one."
You can read the full interview here on Wired's official website. The End of the World, Tooth and Claw, The Girl in the Fireplace, Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead are just some of the many Doctor Who episodes that Euros has directed and you can view more information about his work here. It was originally thought that the four of this year's special Doctor Who episodes would air over the four seasons; Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter but it seems that this is no longer the case. In a recent interview conducted by Doctor Who Magazine and featured in their latest issue, Gareth Roberts has revealed that the second Doctor Who special will air on Christmas day. This means that after Planet of the Dead, which will air around Easter, there will be no more episodes of Doctor Who until Christmas. During that time of wait, there will however be the third series of Torchwood and the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures to look forward to. At the moment, it is unknown when the third and fourth of this year's Doctor Who specials will air but speculation suggests that it will be in the run up to the new year. More information regarding the specials and their transmission dates will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

It's likely that there will be a fourth edition of the Tennant Tapes sometime soon and we'll let you know if and when it becomes available. What do you think of the third of this year's Tennant tapes?
Among many other things, the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine has revealed and confirmed the names of the writers for the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures. We now know that Phil Ford will be writing two stories for the series whereas Gareth Roberts, Joe Lidster, Brian Dooley and Rupert Laight will be writing one story each. Each story will consist of two parts and the third series will therefore contain a total of twelve episodes. At the moment, we don't know the titles of these episodes or the order in which they will run but more information will be posted as soon as it becomes available. Filming for the third series of the Sarah Jane Adventures will begin soon and the series will then air on television later this year. What do you think of this news?
