Christmas Broadcast For This Year's Second Special

By Mark
It was originally thought that the four of this year's special Doctor Who episodes would air over the four seasons; Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter but it seems that this is no longer the case. In a recent interview conducted by Doctor Who Magazine and featured in their latest issue, Gareth Roberts has revealed that the second Doctor Who special will air on Christmas day. This means that after Planet of the Dead, which will air around Easter, there will be no more episodes of Doctor Who until Christmas. During that time of wait, there will however be the third series of Torchwood and the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures to look forward to. At the moment, it is unknown when the third and fourth of this year's Doctor Who specials will air but speculation suggests that it will be in the run up to the new year. More information regarding the specials and their transmission dates will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

that is rather disappointing to be honest.i feel that the bbc have in a way hidden the truth by saying that they would broadcast the specials throughout 2009

Ditto, Anonymous!! We were told previously, 4 specials (not including the xmas special) which would have made it 5 stories for 09. Now only 2? The public certainly will not act positively, towards this announcement. How can we feel anything but completely shafted. Very bad form BBC!

Hiya everyone, thanks for your comments. I'd just like to let you all know that there are still going to be four specials, they will just air later and nearer each other. It's likely that the third and fourth special will air near the new year.
