Doctor Who Movie Script In Development

By Mark
According to Lizo Mzimba, BBC Films have now confirmed that they are working on a script for a Doctor Who movie that will possibly air sometime in the future. Lizo Mzimba, who is a BBC entertainment news reporter and fan of Doctor Who itself, recently revealed this news on his official Twitter page but informed other fans not to get their hopes up at this moment in time as it hasn't been guaranteed that a Doctor Who movie will definitely be made. The BBC are currently considering making one and are developing a script but they may decide not to commission the film for various different reasons. If BBC Films do decide to make a Doctor Who movie and it goes into full production, it should be noted however that it will be quite a long time before it is released due to all of the filming and preparation that needs to take place. More information about the possibility and official BBC consideration of a Doctor Who movie will be posted here on this site as soon as it becomes available. What do you think of this Doctor Who movie news?

The Sarah Jane Adventures Series Three Press Release

By Mark
The BBC have today published a new press release about the upcoming third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures and the article reveals some interesting information about some of the aliens that Sarah Jane and her team will encounter. We now know that the Judoon, who were first seen in 'Smith and Jones' and most recently seen in 'The Stolen Earth', will be making an appearance in one of the stories and the full press release can be viewed below;

Doctor Who fans are in for a treat this Autumn as David Tennant makes a special appearance as The Doctor in CBBC's hit drama series The Sarah Jane Adventures with a starring role across two episodes.

Investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith, one-time companion to that strange wanderer in time and space known as The Doctor, is reunited with her old friend as The Sarah Jane Adventures is back for a third series of alien-busting adventures on CBBC this September.

Elisabeth Sladen, who plays Sarah Jane, says: "When I heard the news that David was going to be joining us I was absolutely over the moon. Not only has it made my day but it will also make the viewers' day.

"It's fantastic news that Sarah Jane is going to spend some time working with The Doctor again and is testament to just how successful this CBBC series is."

Russell T Davies, Executive Producer of The Sarah Jane Adventures, adds: "Viewers thought they may have to wait until November for the next full episode of Doctor Who, but this is an extra special treat.

"And it's not just a cameo from David – this is a full-on appearance for The Doctor as he and Sarah Jane face their biggest threat ever."

The series includes 12 weeks of brand new adventures featuring a new alien race, the reptilian Veil and their enemies the Judoon, alongside an extraterrestrial girl that can make people play games against their will.

There will also be a living painting, the inhabitants of a supposedly haunted house, monsters who want to infect Earth with a strangely aggressive weed and a chance for Sarah Jane to find personal happiness with someone who could be the perfect person to complete her family.

Alongside adopted son Luke, Sarah Jane's team is made up of Luke's streetwise pal Clyde Langer, their schoolmate Rani, who lives opposite and has aspirations to become a journalist like Sarah Jane, and Mr Smith, their Xylok supercomputer up in the attic, plus Sarah Jane's robot dog, K-9.

The Sarah Jane Adventures series three is currently being filmed and it's expected for transmission on BBC One in Autumn this year. Elisabeth Sladen will reprise her role as Sarah Jane Smith and David Tennant will make an appearance in two episodes as the 10th Doctor. Thomas Knight, Daniel Anthony and Anjili Mohindra will also return to play their respective characters; Luke, Clyde and Rani. More information about the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be posted here on this site as soon as it is announced and becomes available.

Tonight's The Night's Doctor Who Scene

By Mark
As previously reported, a specially recorded Doctor Who scene starring John Barrowman as Captain Jack aired last night as part of Tonight's the Night's final episode. David Tennant also made a cameo appearance as himself in the mini episode which was created to star Tim Ingham, the winner of the programme's alien talent search competition. The scene is approximately three minutes long and it can be viewed below;

A special behind the scenes look at the making of the episode follows the scene in the above video and you can view last night's edition of 'Tonight's the Night' here on BBC iPlayer. The special Doctor Who scene was written by Russell T Davies and it was directed by Alice Troughton. Tim Ingham was the winner of the alien talent search competition and he therefore played his own creation Sao Til in the sketch. More information about this scene can be found here on the BBC's official Doctor Who website. What do you think of this sketch?

He will take on the role of Albin, who has previously been played by Roger Allam and Graham Norton, and will play the role from the fourteenth of September to the twenty eighth of November at London's Playhouse Theatre. Russell T Davies BBC Wales Today Interview

By Mark
Russell T Davies, the current head writer of Doctor Who, recently took part in an interview with the news programme 'BBC Wales Today' and spoke about his feelings regarding the recent wrap of filming on this year's special episodes of Doctor Who. The interview took place at Upper Boat Studios and it aired on Thursday evening. It is approximately three minutes and fifty one second long and it can be viewed below;

video

Along with David Tennant, Russell T Davies will be leaving Doctor Who to move onto different projects when he has finished completing his final touches on this year's remaining three specials. Russell was the man who brought Doctor Who back to our screens in 2005 and you can view a list of all of the episodes that he wrote for the programme here on the Internet Movie Database. Filming for this year's specials was completed yesterday and you can view more details about this news here. What do you think of this new interview?

Filming Completed For This Year's Remaining Specials

By Mark
Filming for this year's remaining three special episodes of Doctor Who has now been completed which means that at this moment in time, David Tennant has now filmed his last scene as the 10th Doctor and Russell T Davies has finished making script amendments for his last episode of Doctor Who. During post production, changes may however be made and new scenes might have to be shot to coincide with any errors that may have occurred during filming. As with any programme, Russell may one day return to Doctor Who to write a new episode in the future and David Tennant always has the possibility of returning for a multi-doctor story, charity sketch or he may even play a minor character in a future episode. There's also the possibility of the human Doctor, who was last seen at Bad Wolf Bay in the parallel world, returning so it's not out of the question that either of them may return one day to play their roles once again. I'd like to take this time to thank both David Tennant and Russell T Davies for their consistent hard work over the past few years and would also like to wish them the best for the future. The next three special episodes of Doctor Who will air later this year and more information about all three of them will be posted here on this site as soon as it becomes publicly available.
