During an interview earlier today, John Barrowman revealed that a fourth series of Torchwood has now been commissioned and that the BBC are currently in discussions about how to move the show forward after the events of Children of Earth. John revealed this news while he was a guest on BBC Radio 2's 'Steve Wright in the Afternoon' show and he also confirmed that the fourth series of Torchwood will return to the thirteen episode format which was used for the programme's first two series. The latest issue of the Radio Times was released yesterday and it is now on sale across the United Kingdom and Ireland at the price of £1.10. A new promotional picture of David Tennant as the 10th Doctor features on the front cover of the magazine and inside, there are extracts from new interviews with David Tennant, Russell T Davies, John Simm and Bernard Cribbins. The TV and radio listings from the fifth of December to the eleventh of December are the main features of this week's issue and much more content is also included inside. The first part of The End of Time is scheduled for transmission on Christmas Day at 7:30pm on BBC One and it's rumoured that the story's concluding part will then follow and premiere on New Year's Day at the same time on the same channel. These times and dates have been confirmed by the BBC in their recently released provisional Christmas schedule but times and dates may change between now and Christmas. The final ratings for The Waters of Mars, the latest episode of Doctor Who, have recently been released by BARB and we now know that the episode was watched by a total of 10.32 million people. Most viewers, 9.94 million of them, watched the adventure on BBC One but an additional 376,000 people also watched the story on the BBC's high definition channel instead. These figures gave BBC HD their best rating yet making The Waters of Mars the most watched programme on their channel to date. The Waters of Mars was the fifth most watched programme for the week of its transmission and it was also BBC One's second most watched programme of the week. It has also now been revealed that this story's episode of Doctor Who Confidential, 'Is There Life On Mars?', received a total viewing figure of 0.73 million. BBC Audio have recently released some information regarding a new exclusive Doctor Who audio adventure which is set for release next year. The story will be titled 'The Last Voyage' and it will be written by Dan Abnett. David Tennant, who plays the 10th Doctor in the Doctor Who, will be the narrator of the story and the cover for the adventure's CD can be seen above whereas the story's official synopsis can be viewed here on this site below;
The TARDIS materialises on board the maiden voyage of a pioneering space cruiser, travelling from Earth to the planet Eternity. The Doctor has just started exploring the huge, hi-tech Interstitial Transposition Vehicle when there is a loud bang, a massive jolt and a flash of light. Shortly afterwards, he discovers that nearly all the passengers and crew have disappeared. Unless the Doctor and flight attendant Sugar MacAuley can take control and steer the ship, they could crash-land - or keep slipping through space forever. And as if that wasn't enough, something awful awaits them on Eternity.
The Last Voyage is scheduled for release on the seventh of January and it will go on sale at an RRP of £9.99. It will follow on follow on from the previous five new series audio adventures which are currently on sale and are titled; Pest Control, The Forever Trap, The Nemonite Invasion, The Rising Night and The Day of the Troll. BBC Books have recently released some information about their upcoming revised edition of 'The Writer's Tale' which will feature new content regarding this year's special episodes of Doctor Who. A special preview clip from this year's third special episode of Doctor Who was shown last night as part of the BBC's Children in Need telethon and it has now been confirmed that both of this year's remaining specials will be titled The End of Time. This year's annual Children in Need telethon will begin tonight at 7pm on BBC One and various entertainers will be performing live on stage to help raise money for the charity. A special preview clip from this year's third special episode of Doctor Who will be shown and according the event's schedule, it will air sometime in between 8pm and 8:30pm. Once the clip has been published online, it will also be posted on this site so don't worry if you miss it when it's first shown. The BBC have recently released a new promotional trailer for the next special episode of Doctor Who, The Waters of Mars, and it is now currently airing on the BBC's various different channels during advert breaks. It has an approximate running time of nineteen seconds in total and as well as being available elsewhere online, the new trailer for the special can also be viewed in full here on this site below;
The Waters of Mars will have an approximate running time of sixty minutes and it will premiere in the United Kingdom and Ireland on the fifteenth of November at 7pm on BBC One. The latest issue of the Radio Times, which was released yesterday, has dedicated its front cover to this weekend's upcoming special episode of Doctor Who, The Waters of Mars. Inside the magazine, there are some new promotional pictures for the episode and an article featuring new interviews with both David Tennant and Russell T Davies is also included inside. The TV and radio listings from the fourteenth of November to the twentieth of November make this week's issue which also contains many other features. This issue of the magazine is now on sale in all good newsagents across the United Kingdom and Ireland at the price of £1.10 and it will be available for purchase until Tuesday which is when the next issue will be released. In order to help raise money for Children in Need, John Barrowman took part in a celebrity relay race earlier this year. The journey was split up into six individual sections and six different pairs of celebrities would then complete these different parts of the travel. After each part, they would then pass on the baton to the next pair of celebrities and once completed, all twelve people will have travelled around the world as part of a combined effort. John Barrowman travelled from California to Tennessee for his part of the journey and in total, the distance between the two locations covers over 2,700 miles. Myleene Klass accompanied John for his adventure and a documentary taking a look at their part of the journey will air at 9pm on BBC One tonight. David Tennant, who is well known for his role as the tenth incarnation of The Doctor in Doctor Who, will be a guest on tonight's edition of The Graham Norton Show. On the programme, he will be interviewed and is likely to talk about this year's remaining three special episodes of Doctor Who as well as his role in the upcoming movie, St Trinian's II: The Legend of Fritton's Gold. This will be the second time that David Tennant has appeared on The Graham Norton Show and tonight's episode will broadcast at 10:35pm on BBC One. The complete second series of The Sarah Jane Adventures has today been released on DVD and it now available in all good entertainment stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland at an RRP of £19.99. In total, the box set contains three discs which feature all twelve episodes of the series and some special features. These special features include; the Comic Relief 2009 special, an interview with the programme's main cast, a behind the scenes documentary with Tommy Knight, quizzes, trailers and much more. John Barrowman, who is well known for his role as Captain Jack Harkness in both Doctor Who and Torchwood, will be appearing on tonight's edition of All Star Family Fortunes. He will be joined on his team by his mum Marion, his dad John, his sister Carole and his partner Scott. John's team will be competing against Lesley Dunlop and her family to help raise money for charity and more information about tonight's episode can be found here in an official press release. The episode will broadcast at 7:15pm on ITV1 and it will have an approximate running time of forty five minutes. Doctor Who at the Fab Cafe 2, a follow up to the first convention which took place earlier this year, will take place today in Manchester. The event will be run by Fans Like Us who set up 'Who at the Cavern' for three years in Liverpool and the cafe will open its doors for the convention at 9:30am. Stars from the classic series of Doctor Who will be attending the convention and the full guest list is as follows; Sylvester McCoy, Terry Molloy, Mary Tamm, Anneke Wills, Colin Spaull, Richard Franklin, Terrance Dicks, Andrew Cartmel, Lisa Bowerman and Charlie Ross. Big Finish and Fantom Films will also be in attendance of the event along with their products which will be available for purchase and The Red Pills will be performing at the convention's aftershow party.
