The first episode of Girl Number 9, a dark web thriller which is being shown exclusively online, will begin streaming tonight at 9pm. The series will consist of six episodes which will each have an approximate running time of five minutes and the story has been created by Dan Turner and James Moran. James Moran, who is well known for his work on both Doctor Who and Torchwood, is the writer of the story and the production stars; Gareth David-Lloyd, Joe Absolom and Tracy-Ann Oberman. Gareth David-Lloyd is well known for his role as Ianto Jones in the first three series of Torchwood and Tracy-Ann Oberman's credentials include her role as Yvonne Hartman in the Doctor Who series two finale. Today, the twenty eighth of October, is Matt Smith's twenty seventh birthday and I would like to take this time to wish him a very happy birthday and the best for the future. Matt Smith will play the eleventh incarnation of The Doctor in the fifth series of Doctor Who next year and he is also well known for his acting roles in programmes such as; Moses Jones, the Sally Lockhart Mysteries, Party Animals and The Street. Karen Gillan will play his companion, Amy Pond, in Doctor Who and Matt will also star alongside Eva Green in a movie called 'Womb' which is currently undergoing post production. The overnight ratings for both parts of The Mad Woman in the Attic, the second story of The Sarah Jane Adventures series three, have recently been revealed and the figures have now been published online. According to the ratings, the first part of the adventure was watched by a total of 0.6 million people on BBC One last Thursday which gave the episode an audience share of 5.7%. The episode was also viewed by an unconfirmed amount of people who watched it when it aired simultaneously on the BBC's high definition channel. The Mad Woman in the Attic's concluding part received a slightly higher viewing figure of 0.8 million when it aired on BBC One on the following day and it scored an audience share of 7%. Some viewers also watched the second part of the adventure when it aired on the BBC's HD channel and final figures for these episodes will be released next week by BARB. Massive Events, the organisers of many conventions, will be at the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre this weekend for their third unofficial Torchwood convention, The Hub 3. The event began last night with an opening ceremony and it will continue today and tomorrow with signing events and professional photoshoot opportunities with some of the stars of Torchwood. Ten guests from the show will be at the event and they are as follows; Gareth David Lloyd, Liz May Brice, Paul Copley, Katy Wix, Nicholas Farrell, Rik Makarem, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Daniela Denby-Ashe, Ben Loyd-Holmes and Lara Phillipart. John Barrowman and James Marsters were also originally going to attend the convention but both have unfortunately had to cancel their appearances for different reasons. I will be attending this convention this weekend and will hopefully manage to take some photos on my digital camera which I will be able to share here on this site next week. I won't be able to update this site with any major news if it is revealed over the next few days but don't worry as I've scheduled some updates which will post automatically over the weekend while I am away. The twenty first issue of the Doctor Who DVD Files was released today and it is now on sale in all good newsagents across the United Kingdom and Ireland at the price of £6.99. Prisoner of the Judoon's concluding part received a slightly higher viewing figure of 0.7 million when it aired on BBC One on the following day and it scored an audience share of 7.2%. An unconfirmed amount of people also watched the second part of Prisoner of the Judoon on the BBC's HD channel. Final figures for these episodes will be released next week by BARB and it's likely that they will be higher than these overnight ratings. It has recently been revealed that a fourth wave of Doctor Who cardboard cutouts will be released later this month on the thirtieth of October. This new wave will consist of five cardboard cutouts and they will be of; Donna Noble, Sarah Jane Smith, Jenny, General Staal and Vashta Nerada. Each cutout will go on sale at an RRP of £29.99 and they will be available in most specialist stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The BBC have today released a new promotional trailer for the upcoming third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures and it features many new clips from the programme which have previously been unseen. Blue Peter have recently launched a new competition which will allow viewers, who are aged between six and twelve years old, the chance to design a new Tardis console room. The winner's design will appear in an episode of Doctor Who series five next year which will star Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond. The cover for the 414th issue of Doctor Who Magazine has recently been revealed and it can now be seen above. It was uploaded onto the magazine's official Facebook page earlier this week by Tom Spilsbury and it features an image of The Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith on the front cover. The issue will feature exclusive interviews with David Tennant and Georgia Moffett, behind the scenes previews of The Sarah Jane Adventures series three, information about the 8th Doctor, a summary of all the latest news and much more. It will be released in all good newsagents across the United Kingdom and Ireland next Thursday, on the fifteenth of October, and it will come free with twenty five 'Alien Armies' cards, one of which will be exclusive to this magazine. The twentieth issue of the Doctor Who DVD Files was released today and it is now on sale in all good newsagents across the United Kingdom and Ireland at the price of £6.99. This fortnight's issue comes with a free DVD containing the next two episodes of Doctor Who; 'Utopia' and 'The Sound of Drums'. As well as coming free with this DVD, the issue also takes a look at; Captain Jack, Chantho, the Supreme Dalek, the 2nd Doctor and much more. It also goes behind the scenes of the show with Neill Gorton to take a look at the process which goes into making alien prosthetics and you can visit the official website for the Doctor Who DVD Files here. The BBC have today revealed the new Doctor Who logo which will used for the programme during and after its fifth series. As well as featuring text, the logo also contains an emblem of the Tardis which has been created using the programme's initials. The BBC have today revealed that they will be unveiling a new logo for Doctor Who tomorrow which will become the show's main emblem for Steven Moffat's era of the programme. It will be available to view on the BBC's official Doctor Who website from 8am tomorrow morning and after this year's remaining three specials, it will be used on most of the show's merchandise which will be released in 2010. This new logo will celebrate a new era for Doctor Who with Steven Moffat in position as the programme's new head writer and Matt Smith as the eleventh incarnation of The Doctor. The second official trailer for K9, an upcoming Doctor Who spin-off show created by Bob Baker, has recently been uploaded online by Park Entertainment. It features many new clips from the show and has an approximate running time of two minutes and forty nine seconds in total. As well as being available elsewhere online, this new trailer for the programme can also be viewed in full here on this site below;
K9's first series will consist of twenty six episodes which will each have an approximate running time of thirty minutes. The series is expected to premiere in Australia and the United Kingdom later this year but this isn't confirmed and it may not begin broadcasting until 2010.
