It has recently been revealed that the upcoming third series of Torchwood, Children of Earth, will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray next month. The DVD will feature all five episodes of the series and it has also been confirmed that a special edition of Torchwood Declassified and a promotional audio clip from "In the Shadows' will feature on the discs as bonus material. An ordinary day becomes a world of terror, as every single child in the world stops. A message is sent to all the governments of Earth: 'We are coming'. But as a trap closes around Captain Jack, sins of the past are returning, as long-forgotten events from 1965 threaten to reveal an awful truth.

Torchwood are forced underground, as the government takes swift and brutal action. With members of the team being hunted down, Britain risks becoming a rogue state, with the mysterious and powerful 456 drawing ever closer. Captain Jack, Gwen and Ianto are helpless, as events escalate until mankind faces the end of civilisation itself.

This DVD is scheduled for release in the United Kingdom on the twenty seventh of July and in the United States one day later on the twenty eighth of July. It will go on sale at an RRP of £24.46 and the Blu-ray editions of the series will also be released at the same time as the DVDs. Torchwood's third series, Children of Earth, will air in America on the twentieth of July and it's presumed that it will air in the United Kingdom on the same date but this has not yet been confirmed.
