Gillian Anderson To Star In Doctor Who?

By Mark
According to various different sources, Gillian Anderson is being lined up for a role in the upcoming fifth series of Doctor Who. Gillian Anderson has appeared in many television shows and films during her career and is probably most well known to the public for her role as Dana Scully in The X-Files. She has also appeared in many theatre productions and you can view more information about her acting career here. In the articles, the reporters suggest that she will be play The Rani who is an old enemy of the 6th and 7th incarnations of The Doctor. The Rani was originally played by Kate O' Mara and you can view the Daily Telegraph's article about this story here online. It should however be noted that these are only rumours at the moment and the casting of Gillian Anderson or return of The Rani haven't yet been officially confirmed. What do you think of these rumours?

I'd love to see Gillian Anderson play a role in the fifth series. But I wish people would get past the Rani coming back rumors. Was she that important that her character needs to be resurrected? Some things should be left in the past. Let Dimensions in Time be the final word on The Rani. Seems fitting.

Something to say?
