Torchwood Captain Jack and the Selkie

By Mark
Titan Magazines have recently revealed that John Barrowman will be writing a comic strip with his sister, Carole, for the fourteenth issue of Torchwood Magazine. John is well known for playing the role of Captain Jack in both Doctor Who and Torchwood and came up with the idea for the comic strip's plot when working on his autobiography, Anything Goes. You can view extracts from interviews with John's sister Carole and Torchwood magazine's editor Martin Eden below;

Martin Eden: "I'm so excited to be working on this story, John and Carole are an absolute pleasure to work with. Believe me, the readers are in for a treat!"

Carole E. Barrowman: "When John and I were working on Anything Goes, we spent a lot of time together on the Torchwood set. In between our storytelling and moments of inspired silliness (maybe one or two), we decided we’d like to work on a project together that involved Captain Jack. The role of myth in a culture’s zeitgeist has always intrigued John and I (it probably intrigues all sci-fi fans) so when I got back to the US, I sent John a short story I’d written, ‘The Tale of the Selkie.’ Almost immediately he called and said, ‘This should be our first Captain Jack tale."

The comic strip will feature in Torchwood magazine's fourteenth issue which will go on sale on the nineteenth of February. The title of the story will be "Captain Jack and the Selkie" and it will see Captain Jack face a deadly threat on a remote Scottish island. People are mysteriously disappearing and Jack has to find out who or what are taking them and what he can do to prevent it from happening. More information will be posted as soon as it becomes available. Are you looking forward to reading John and Carole's Torchwood comic strip?
