This year's Doctor Who Christmas special, The Next Doctor, will air tonight at 6pm on BBC One. The episode has been written by Russell T Davies and stars; David Tennant, David Morrissey, Dervla Kirwan and Velile Tshabalala. It will be followed by two new episodes of Doctor Who Confidential on BBC Three and tonight's Doctor Who schedule can be seen below;

• Doctor Who "The Next Doctor" - 6pm - BBC One
• Doctor Who Confidential (Christmas 2008) - 7pm - BBC Three
• Doctor Who Confidential (Top 5 Christmas Moments) - 8pm - BBC Three
