According to the BBC Press Office, a special mini episode of Doctor Who will be shown this year to help raise money for Children in Need. Earlier this year, Russell T Davies said that there wouldn't be a mini episode for Children in Need as they had spent the time filming the special Doctor Who Prom episode "Music of the Spheres" instead. It seems however that this is no longer the case and you can read about rumoured plot details for this year's Children in Need episode here.
