According to overnight ratings, the third episode of Torchwood's third series was watched by a total of 5.9 million people last night which gave the episode an audience share of 27.1%. The episode, Day Three, was the third most watched programme of the day and managed to the maintain the high figures that the season's first two episodes received earlier this week. An unconfirmed amount of people also watched Day Three, the third part of Children of Earth, in high definition on the BBC's HD channel and final figures for the episode will be released in ten days time by BARB.
