According to overnight ratings, the first episode of
Torchwood's third series was watched by a total of 5.94 million people last night which gave the episode an audience share of 25.8%. The episode, Day One, was the fifth most watched programme of the day and it was only beaten by episodes of Coronation Street and
Emmerdale which aired in earlier
timeslots on
ITV1. An additional 97,000 people watched Day One, the first episode of Children of Earth, in high definition on the
BBC's HD channel and final figures for the episode will be released in ten days time by BARB. It's likely that the episode's final figures will be
significantly higher than these overnight ratings and they will be posted here on this site as soon as they become available and are publicly announced. What do you think of the overnight ratings for last night's episode of
Torchwood?
