Planet of the Dead's Appreciation Index Figures

By Mark
It has recently been revealed that Planet of the Dead, the latest episode of Doctor Who, received an appreciation index of 88 for it's first and initial broadcast. An average BBC or ITV drama will receive an AI figure of 77 and anything above 85 is classed as excellent. You can view more information about what an appreciation index figure is and how one is calculated here. The ratings for recent Planet of the Dead repeats have also now become available and we now know that 0.76 million people watched the episode when it was repeated on Sunday at 7pm on BBC Three. It has also been revealed that Monday's repeat of Planet of the Dead on BBC One was watched by 1.8 million people with an extra 30,000 viewers tuning in on BBC HD. This repeat of the episode scored an appreciation index figure of 89 which is one point higher than Planet of the Dead's appreciation index figure for it's first transmission. What do you think of these ratings?
