This year's National Television Awards ceremony will take place tonight at 8pm and ITV1 will be screening the ceremony live on their channel. The ceremony will be presented by Trevor McDonald and end at 10pm. David Tennant, Catherine Tate and the show itself, Doctor Who, are all up for awards and you can find out more information here in a previous post but please be aware that voting lines have now closed. Best of luck to Doctor Who, David and Catherine, fingers crossed they win. Will you be watching the National Television Awards tonight?

Update: The award ceremony has now taken place and Doctor Who won the award for "Best Drama". David Tennant also won the award for "Outstanding Drama Performance" and in his acceptance speech announced that the 2009 specials will be his last episodes of Doctor Who. More will be posted about this tomorrow but in the meantime congratulations to Doctor Who and David Tennant for winning their awards and to Catherine Tate for her nomination.

Just read on BBC that Tennant is out after the 2009 specials. I'm so sad about that.
