News Roundup

By Mark
Here is a catch up of some of the news I never got round to posting earlier this week. The news is a few days old and the reason for the delay is that I have been and still am working on new pages for the site. The news can be seen below;

SFX Special Issue
SFX have recently released a special edition of their magazine which takes a look at some of Sci-fi’s greatest special effects. The cover for the magazine can be seen above and was specially created by The Mill who work on Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. The magazine features twenty eight pages about Doctor Who and is now on sale in all good newsagents at the price of £5.99.

David Tennant - Olympic Flame Lighter Petition

A petition hoping to give David Tennant the chance to light the flame at the 2012 London Olympics has recently been made online. As you may recall, David Tennant was seen lighting the flame as The Doctor in “Fear Her”, the eleventh episode of Doctor Who series two, and fans have come together to try and give him the chance to do this for real. You can sign the petition here and at the time I’m writing this there are currently 1293 signatures. It’d be a one in a life time opportunity for David Tennant and that's one of the reasons I have signed it. Will you be signing the petition?

    Brilliant idea for the petition. David would be an ideal candidate to light the torch in 2012. I urge all reading this to sign this petition.
