Michelle Ryan, Series Five Companion?

By Mark
According to various sources, Michelle Ryan is the latest in the line of actresses to be named as having a chance of becoming The Doctor's companion in Doctor Who series five. Michelle has appeared in many TV shows in the past and her on screen credentials include; Eastenders, Bionic Woman, Merlin and Jekyll which was written by Steven Moffat himself. Steven Moffatt will be taking over from Russell T Davies as the head writer of Doctor Who for the show's fifth series which will see Matt Smith play the newly regenerated 11th Doctor. Other actresses that are rumoured to be in talks with the BBC about the part of The Doctor's companion include; Lily Allen, Rachel Stevens and Kelly Brook. Would you like to see Michelle Ryan play The Doctor's companion?

Well, I hope she has more personality than she did on the Bionic Woman. She was an absolute blank on that show. I think I'd rather have Lily Allen.

Alot of people really want to see a former character return (Sally Sparrow, Jenny, etc.) but I would like to see a new companion with a new story and family.
Michelle Ryan would be great. She was really good in Eastenders and Bionic Woman so I'd really enjoy seeing her as a companion. Her or Lily Allen. After watching her talk show on BBC3 she seems like a really nice person and she has the look of a companion.

why are all these rumors about a female companion?? can't there not be male companion? Hasn't that been considered? :D

I agree. Why can't there be a male companion again? And I have to disagree about Ryan being good on Bionic Woman. She was flat. The saving grace of that show (now thankfully cancelled) was Katee Sackhoff as the bionic villain. She should have been the Bionic Woman. Hmmm....maybe Katee could be the Doctor's next companion.
